TORONTO, ONTARIO, April 23, 2018 – The Toronto Real Estate Board is encouraged that Mayor John Tory is making housing affordability a priority for himself and for City staff.

“Toronto REALTORS® understand that municipal government policy plays a direct role in housing affordability and in protecting the investments of existing home owners. We are glad that Mayor Tory recognizes the important role that the City plays in this regard,” said Tim Syrianos, President of the Toronto Real Estate Board.

TREB has worked to ensure that governments understand the supply and demand dynamics of the Toronto and GTA real estate market place. Most recently, TREB released its annual Market year in review and outlook report, and provide briefings on this to the Mayor’s office and City Councillors.

“TREB looks forward to working with the City and the Mayor to move forward on this very important issue, and to ensure that challenges faced by all aspects of the market, including renters, home buyers, existing owners, and sellers, are considered,” added Syrianos.
